Murphy’s Pigskin Pigout Raises $95,0000.00 in Support of the Hawai‘i Bowl Foundation and Nā Koa Football Club
For more than 20 years, Murphy’s Pigskin Pigout has raised much needed funds for Hawai‘i youth and sports programs. This year’s Pigout benefitting Nā Koa Football Club and the Hawai’i Bowl Foundation was held on August 9, 2018. An incredible success, the benefit hosted more than 350 attendees and raised approximately $95,000.00
In addition to donations made by attendees, the business community also stepped forward with contributions to the live auction and “General Store.” With fabulous trips, hotel stays, sports tickets, memorabilia and more, guests were able to bid on items knowing that their donations would go directly to those supporting our community.
The annual charity event kicks off the college football season in Hawai’i. Hosted by Don and Marion Murphy and organized by the staffs of Murphy’s Bar and Grill, Nā Koa Football Club
and the Hawai’i Bowl, the Pigout transforms Merchant Street into a fun-filled, tailgate-style street party.
"I’m pleased to be able to help the Hawai’i Bowl Foundation and Nā Koa Football Club make a difference in young people’s lives” shared Don Murphy, owner of Murphy’s Bar and Grill.
Nā Koa Executive Director Kim Fujiuchi added, “Thanks to Don and Marion Murphy, many volunteers and the community, the Pigskin Pigout was a great success again. We are very appreciative of everyone’s support of our Rainbow Warrior Football team.”
The Hawai’i Bowl Foundation’s mission is to assist Hawai‘i-based 501(c)3 organizations with a preference given to non-profits that provide services for Hawai‘i youth.
Nā Koa Football Club is the official organization established to support the University of Hawai‘i Warrior Football program.
